Ottawa, April 20th 2022 – Hugh Nelson has served as the Executive Director of the Y’s Owl Maclure Co-operative Centre for the past 18 years. Prior to his work at Y’s Owl, Hugh served as a supervisor at the Ottawa Carleton Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities, for 27 years. In total, Hugh has dedicated the past 51 years to serving the developmental community. Over this time, Hugh has demonstrated tireless dedication, commitment to, and compassion for the members, clients, staff and director’s of Y’s Owl, and beyond. The community will greatly miss Hugh’s leadership, insight and sense of humour.

Hugh remains involved in the community, as a longstanding member of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Co-operative Association, Co-chair of the Healthcare Co-operative Federation of Canada and as a Member of the United Way Ottawa Successful Aging Strategic Council. We wish Hugh a happy retirement.
